DELTA Machinery Unveils Two New Additions to Popular X5 Series

DELTA Machinery unveiled two new products today geared for the professional woodworker demanding precision in their work. The DELTA® X5 drum sander, model 31-260X, and the DELTA® X5 15-inch planer, model 22-790X, were presented at Booth W1501 in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. during the 2008 International Builders’ Show from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16.
Equipped with a 1.5 horsepower two speed motor, the new DELTA® X5 18-inch by 36-inch drum sander, model 31-260X, is capable of 2,210 or 3,300 surface feet per minute (SFPM) with both 5-80 or 4-120 grit sanding wraps included. An outboard shaft, designed to accommodate accessory pneumatic drums for contoured sanding, pairs with the unit’s rigid C-framed head for superior parrellism and stability. DELTA Machinery today announced the addition of two new one horsepower dust collectors that deliver superior filtration of fine dust and convenient fill-and-toss, disposable bags. The new dust collectors, models 50-720 and 50-720CT, were introduced during the 2008 International Builders’ Show (IBS) from Feb. 13 to Feb. 16 at Booth W1501 in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Designed for improved filtration efficiency, the 50-720 is equipped with a one micron, spun-bound filter bag designed with a patented integral halo support. The dust collection bag allows for the filtration of extremely fine dust to promote a cleaner, healthier shop environment while reducing the detrimental effect of air-borne contaminants to project finishes. Similarly, the 50-720CT features a two micron pleated canister, which allows for better air flow efficiency due to an increased filter surface area, and an internal manual agitator for frequent and mess-free filter cleaning.
